FRED PERRY | SUSTAINABLE CONCEPT

An assessment-based retail project for Fred Perry. Wood panels exist dominantly and act as a focal point on both the interior and exterior of the pop-up store. The cold concrete material balances out with warm wood elements, as well as the warmth from the lighting.

The design is made sustainably as the sustainable design reduce or completely eliminates the negative environmental impacts through designing thoughtfully.

The sustainable concept is inspired by Whales & Waves. Biomimicry and Biophilic sustainable design principles are combined.

By imitating a characteristic of an animal Whales are used as representations, with inspiration drawn from whale skin. And waves represent the wavy pattern as well as the need to connect the outdoor to the indoor of the pop-up booth by incorporating biophilic design.

There are a variety of factors that are considered when building environmentally sustainable spaces and one of them is through materials.

MDF, AICA HPL, Linoleum Wood Pattern, Concrete, Rammed Earth, and Engineered Wood are used. Although some materials may have been a more expensive choice, they give preference to non-toxic materials and those that will contribute to the health and wellbeing of humanity. And Emphasizing quality and durability over price is also a very important factor to consider.
